ULPower Aero Engines developed this engine specifically for use in light aircraft (fixed wing & rotorcraft). It is built to the highest standards with a fully electronic ignition and multipoint fuel injection system as standard. This engine is the answer to the discerning aircraft owner who desires a modern and efficient aircraft power plant, instead of the decades old carburetor / magneto technology which no one would accept in their automobiles today.

The design of this engine was based around critical issues such as reliability, light weight, excellent performance, a direct propeller drive and modern, proven technology.

4 stroke, 4 cylinder, horizontally opposed

Dual (redundant) electronic spark ignition (variable timing)

Electronic multipoint fuel injection (pressure and temperature compensated)

Electronic RPM limiter

Direct propeller drive NO GEARBOX

5 bearing crankshaft with surface hardening treatment and additional large thrust bearing (ball bearing type)

Single central camshaft

Push rods, tappets and OHV (hydraulic compensators have not been used)

Wet sump forced lubrication with integrated pressure regulator

Ram air cooled cylinders and cylinder heads NO RADIATORS, PUMPS OR HOSES

Integrated permanent magnet AC generator, external rectifier-regulator

Electric starter

Electric fuel pump and pressure regulator to eliminate vapour lock and facilitate starting even under adverse conditions
